This was actually fun this morning! But did have the tripod in the wrong place. The idea of turning these into a small movie is going to take some extra effort as I keep changing distance, etc. But the themes are fun.

Natalie did not have any clean shorts to wear to school today. She only has two and Monday's didn't get washed yesterday. That caused a meltdown this morning trying to get dressed. Her other options included pants, a skort and two skirts. None of these fit her required criteria for appropriate clothing to wear to school! And, she had to wear a white shirt as her blue ones were also dirty! (this coming from a child who will not wear matching socks!) Alas, I dug out Monday's shorts, smoothed the wrinkles, and folded them like clean ones. She accepted this like a long-awaited Christmas gift and the subsequent hug she gave me was almost worth the drama! After she put them on, she did state "I was a bit dramatic about that, wasn't I?". I take that as a good parenting moment!

How Many Repairman does it Take to Repair a Fridge in China?

Our Management Office was contacted Monday morning regarding our broken fridge. They could not get anyone here until today after 12:30. The repair man showed up at 2:30, but he was a GE repairman and our fridge is a Haier. So, after 30 seconds, he left. Ayi then contacted a number that the mgmt office gave her for Haier repairs. New repairman came and determined that there was in fact a problem. (Thank goodness I didn't throw all that stuff away for no reason!!) But turns out that the company is not an official Haier repair office and their prices are 20% more than the Haier repairmen (our landlord is coordinating at this point). So, he went away. Now waiting on third repairman (by 6:00) to come and actually repair the fridge. I am ordering New York Deli and opening another bottle of wine...

Daily Picture Grade 4 - Day 1

First day of School. You can see from the title of this post that I have committed us to yet another year of Daily Pictures. I must be crazy. And of course, we can't do what we did before. Have to try something better and a bit more challenging. So this year we have a project in mind for our pictures. We want to use the daily window to tell a story this year. At the end of the year, we will combine each day into a "movie" that will tell the whole story. Unfortunately, you the daily visitor will only get a small bite every day! (Which is good since we haven't actually written the story yet!) The story is on the whiteboard and a bit hard to read. It will also be typed into the caption for the picture. This ought to be interesting...
